Nina & Simon

A really beautiful day at Groot Constantia Wine Estate set the scene for the reception for Nina & Simon. Simon is Australian and Nina is Italian South African and the couple reside in London. I really liked the portrait images of Nina so I'm adding more than usual," I'm sure your not complaining Simon ". Here are some of my favorites from this fine day.

Siv & Christian

If you are scared of heights the images below will make you feel a bit weak at the knees. This is quite a cute love story for Siv and Christian who came to Cape Point all the way from Norway to get married with their baby daughter. We went on a small road trip for some quirky couple pictures on their way to a dinner reservation at the Twelve Apostles Hotel. We came across some stunning scenes just past Scarborough. It was really nice to be a part of their special occasion.

A beautiful marquees on the lush lawns of The Mount Nelson Hotel here in Cape Town was the setting for Lindy and Matt's wedding. The couple live in London and most guests flew to Cape Town for the party, and a party it was. The wedding was amazingly designed and coordinated by Jaco at The Aleit Group.

The 2nd Shooter

I recently went to a meeting with a couple for a potential wedding and the couple mentioned to me that the previous photographers they had interviewed offer a 2nd photographer as part of their service. I have heard about this before and wondered what the benefit of this would be to any couple or photographer. In my experience most guests at weddings feel somewhat uncomfortable with even one photographer running around, particularly if there are well known guests attending the wedding. I must say I do like to work alone most of the time and in my own space so I can concentrate on the job at hand. Occasionally I'll work with an assistant for lighting if needed, particularly if it's a big wedding. The main thing for me at any wedding is capturing moments, moments that have meaning, a heart stopping moment that will live forever and in order to do this I must work as inconspicuously as possible. Some might say well one photographer can photograph the groom and the other can photograph the bride whilst getting ready but to be honest I think there are many ways around this. Less of good, real images is far more important than too many poor images, even worse is too little of the important images:)

Annemarie & Ettienne

Hollywood meets Ireland is how you can describe this wedding, absolutely gorgeous. Annemarie and Ettienne had their reception in Camps bay and most of the guests flew in from Ireland to join them. I must say well done on your choice of venue, nice and different. Annamarie's father owns a 5 star hotel in Ireland and I really hope to do some weddings at their hotel in the future, hint. Thanks a mil guys I had a great time, here are some real moments from your wedding, there are hundreds so I just selected ones that caught my eye. The Wedding was perfectly coordinated by Hayley at the Aleit Group.
